Westminster Women’s Classic 5K Recap {PR}

Short & Sweet On Sunday I ran a 5K…actually, I raced it. I’m not sure if I’ve ever “raced” a 5K, if so, its been years. I went out too fast. I spent the last 1.5 miles trying not to puke. We ran thru nearly knee deep water, twice. Aside from the puke fighting, I had fun. I started near the front and stayed there, sort of. I crossed the finish line in 11th place, with a time of 24:14. This put me 1st in my AG {after they removed the top 5 overall…minor detail, I was 2nd before that}. I got to stand on a podium. And I beat my 2009 5K PR! Long & Detailed I spent about two weeks going back and forth on this race. It wasn’t until Friday morning that I finally committed. Initially I … [Click Here For the Full Story]

Color Me Rad 5K {recap + video}

So. I’ve only half fallen off the face of the earth. I am still here! But I have cried at work at least three times, ran zero miles, ate countless cookies, turned in multiple assignments {not necessarily on time} and have never been so incredibly happy for a Monday before in my life. Why Monday? Because I’m starting all over with life…it might still suck, but I’m taking control of it. Hopefully. Maybe. But, first, let’s talk about the last time I actually ran. Last week Saturday. As in eight days ago. Yup. I won my race entry from Lena through a giveaway and was crazy excited to run a color run with a bunch of blogger friends. It was bound to be a no pressure run with laughs, lots of color, my first visit to the Botanical Gardens at … [Click Here For the Full Story]

Color Me Rad… {sneak peek}

Last weekend I ran a race…and got colored corn starch thrown at me! Eventually I’ll get around to telling the whole story and I might even be able to find some GoPro footage that isn’t puke inducing. For now you’ll have to settle for a few photos… {group photo kidnapped from Lena!} If you really want to read about the race you can check out Lynne’s recap – she had an experience very similar to mine. Or take a peek at Heather’s recap who had much better luck than I did! … [Click Here For the Full Story]

Panerathon 10…or 5K!

This past weekend I ran a race. I actually ran hard for this race and it hurt. Quite a bit. This was my first actual “race” where I ran with a goal since the marathon in May. Running hard was not my plan but I tend to make impulse decisions. The Panerathon 10K was on my calendar for a few months. I started out with high hopes for the 10K but eventually I settled with having just a fun, easy run that ended with free Panera food. Well, until race day.  You see, Erin, the speedster behind EfoRunner, was also running the race. Emphasis on the speedster, no emphasis on my ability to resist a challenge. Now I know I’m not nearly as fast as she is but being around a competitive, fast runner does something to a person. It … [Click Here For the Full Story]

{Fargo Marathon} …internet strangers + steamy 5K

Thursday’s Workout Wanda: Not a darn thing, just a day of legit laziness! I’ve taken a week to digest everything and it all still feels like a jumbled mess in my tiny brain. I really want to be able to remember this entire experience myself – which I am already failing to do – so this here is going to be a lame attempt to write it all out when my head and hands can’t agree. Enjoy, or something like that. After our farm visit and finally meeting Lisa we got back on the road to finish up our drive to Fargo. The plan was to arrive by 4pm, change into 5K walking clothes and then head to the expo. Much to my surprise that plan happened almost exactly. That never happens for me, I’m always late for everything, just … [Click Here For the Full Story]
