Taking on technology…and losing!

Workout Wanda: A rest day…we were going to go for a bike ride but the looming clouds changed our minds. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After about six months of going back and forth about self hosting this blog I finally made the decision to go for it. I was waiting until I had a job and now that I do I have run out of excuses to not throw some money at my latest hobby. So, without further a do I would like to present… www.runaroundaroo.com Please go visit and let me know what you think. I’ve been playing around with the site for the past few weeks and I think it is ready for the scrutiny of the public eye. I think there is still a little work to do but its mostly behind scenes so let me hear your {nice, constructive} … [Click Here For the Full Story]

zomg…a trampoline!

When we drove into the driveway of Chris’s dad’s house the first thing Chris saw was the new trampoline sitting in the yard. “They have a trampoline?!” Yup, Chris was just a little excited! Until Sunday I had no idea Chris felt so strongly about strategically placed plastic, springs and aluminum. I think we were there for all of three minutes before Chris and Morgan were out leaping around. Monday was the first day out on the trampoline and the humidity was insane. Completely insane. I broke into a sweat just walking to my car. These photos are proof of how humid it was…the pictures look cloudy but they aren’t. The “cloud” is all condensation on the lens from the humidity. The camera was in the house just shortly before the photos were taken and the lens looked like a … [Click Here For the Full Story]

Coffee Shop Comparison

Lately I’ve been treating myself on Fridays with a trip to one coffee shop or another in town. My way of rewarding myself for making it through the week. At least that is my excuse – really, my weeks are not that difficult do I probably shouldn’t be giving myself a reward for getting out of bed and going about my business… Whatever, I like rewarding myself for being awesome. In the great city that I live in (Eau Claire, WI) there is a pretty good variety of coffee shops – especially since Starbucks closed down some locations to go from about 6 to 4 locations. I mean, seriously, we have 60K people in this town…we don’t need that much Starbucks. Starbucks isn’t even that great and it is over priced… *hops down from Starbucks soapbox* These are the coffee … [Click Here For the Full Story]

PSA: Drink Water!

This seems so simple, but really, drink your water! And drink lots of it! Especially considering it is getting cooler outside, make yourself drink! Just because you are not sweating buckets on your runs does not mean you don’t need as much water! I am figuring this out the hard way. I mean, I knew that I needed to drink water, but I didn’t force myself to drink enough of it and now my head is throbbing! You know, the “ooh, I stood up too fast” headache, but all.day.long! I had my long run on Sunday and my dehydrated head is feeling it today! I drank water on my run and after my run but I obviously did not drink enough. I work up with a throbbing head and it is still throbbing at 2:15pm. I have drank 3 bottles of … [Click Here For the Full Story]

Wii Fit Plus says I’m 35…

My mom came to visit this weekend and she brought her Wii Fit Plus with. We had a busy Saturday with the run and what not, but I decided to give it a try today. I spent about 45 minutes playing with it – much to Chris’s announce since he was in the basement and it made the floor boards creak! According to the Fit I am 35 years old and underweight. I disagree. I’m 23 years old and I’m not underweight! I really have no idea how much I weigh – every freaking scale weighs me 5-10 pounds different. I swear! I know your weight fluxuates, but come on! I don’t feel underweight, look underweight, or eat like an underweight, so its lying to me. Anyway, I did some yoga to stretch out my poor body from my Saturday run and … [Click Here For the Full Story]
