The End of Heidi in Training (HIT)

Workout Wanda: 6.2 mile run @ 10:00 exactly (outside – windy, gloomy, hilly and solid with fast start, slow mid, fast end) If visit and read regularly you may have noticed that the Heidi in Training (HIT) page has not been updated in a long while. I apologize for that, but I have decided to bring HIT to an end. No, I’m not going to stop training, but I am going to stop recording my training as part of my Heidi in Training page. The purpose of this training page was to track my ability to stay on track with working out at least 5 times per week. I managed to this for 52 weeks straight…that is one entire year of working out at least 5 times each week! **There was a week or two where I missed a workout … [Click Here For the Full Story]

HIT: Heidi In Training

I created the general idea behind “HIT: Heidi In Training” almost a year ago.  The idea is still the same – a way to track my physical activity (I do not like the word “workout”, I’m not sure why) on a weekly basis.  Lately I have been falling behind with my weekly HIT posts. This is because I have been focusing on other parts of my blog…blogging about my life in general, not just my workouts. I do not want to be posting HIT updates late, but sometimes I get too wrapped up with everything else. I have decided to move the HIT updates from actual blog posts to my HIT page.  I will simply update the HIT page with my week of activity and links back to any posts that may be relevant. Hopefully this works out. To be … [Click Here For the Full Story]

HIT Week 39 (11/1-11/7)

One more week…complete! In just 13 weeks I can say that I spent a FULL YEAR being active. Active by my definition, but active none the less. Thirteen weeks… I am currently on week 3 of the Couch to 5K Program (c25k) that I am doing with a friend, Amber. It is a 9 week program that basically takes someone from being a non-runner to runner a 5K. Not something necessary for me, but Amber has been talking about getting back into running so I told her I would meet her twice a week for 30 minutes of walk running. She has been doing awesome and hasn’t missed a day yet! Whoo hoo! Unfortunately my slacker side has come into play and I have counted these 30 minutes of walk running toward my physical activity… I mean, I get out … [Click Here For the Full Story]

HIT Week 38 (10/25 – 10/31)

Happy Halloween! Happy November! It is officially November! What does that mean? I’m not really sure, but whatever, its November! On month closer to 2011… This past week my mid-week runs were lacking (again…) but I had an awesome race on Saturday morning! I ran the Minneapolis Monster Dash Half Marathon and I’m really happy with my time and how I felt the entire time! There was some chaos toward the end, but all in all I’m happy – a full review is linked below. M: 3.94 mile run T: horrible weather! W: crazy winds! R: C25K, W1D2 w/ friend F: Spin & no lift S: Monster Half Marathon! S: Rest Clearly I did not get in 5 days of workouts this week. I could make excuses – namely the weather, there were driving advisors because of the wind – but I … [Click Here For the Full Story]

HIT Week 37 (10/18-10/24)

A whole 37 weeks…15 more weeks and I can say I’ve been regularly active for a whole freaking year! How awesome is that? I’m pretty pumped for week 52; I’m not going to lie. However, in order to make it to week 52 I have to keep running through December, January and February. If I were to be living in Texas or California, well then, whoop-dee-do, no biggy; however, I live in Wisconsin where winters get cold, snowy and worst of all icy! Here in Wisconsin people are responsible for shoveling and de-icing their own sidewalk areas. Some people are amazing at this. These people make me want to run with cookies and hand them out to all of the awesome snow shovelers! Unfortunately there are quite a few people who are just to lazy/irresponsible/idiotic to shovel their own sidewalk. … [Click Here For the Full Story]
