The Reality {2013 Colorado Flood}

On Monday we made the drive up to Rocky Mountain National Park for the first time in months. Our last trip up was in July when we hiked from the Chapin Trailhead. Since then wildfires and flooding kept us out of the park. We had plenty of other areas to explore so we didn’t think much of it…until Monday. We headed north to Boulder and I whined as we sat in traffic – don’t drive toward Boulder at 8am, you’ll regret it. I’ve been to Boulder multiple times since the floodwaters came through two months ago but haven’t seen much of the true damage – it was no different this time through. We stuck to the main roads and had no reminder of the floods until we saw the sign that said “Highway 7 closed to Estes Park”. We were … [Click Here For the Full Story]

Exploring New Trails {Chapin TH in RMNP}

For the past few weeks Monday’s have become our day to head into the mountains to bike, hike, run and explore. Mountain Monday, if you will. This week was no different. We really wanted to revisit the trails of our first Rocky Mountain National Park hike as Colorado residents but tourist traffic + road construction in a national park = a complete cluster. Gone Exploring

Chris’s mom is here…our first guest bed tester. Of course this puts us into full on tour guide mode. We are headed into the mountains for the next few days to work our way through our check list of places to visit! Of course the RMNP drive thru officially closed for the season about four hours after she arrived in the state. That’s the joy of fall in Colorado – everything is in limbo! I’ll be back next week with oodles of photos to share and maybe even a good story or two! … [Click Here For the Full Story]

Life is…comfortable!

Wednesday’s Workout Wanda: A 4 mile group run with about 2 miles of speed work tossed in.Thursday’s Workout Wanda: Evening walk with Chris.Friday’s Workout Wanda: Attempted bike ride…made it 2 miles ‘til a flat tire had us heading back.Saturday’s Workout Wanda: About 6 miles of hiking at RMNP with family. Life has been boring lately. Maybe boring isn’t exactly the best word to use, a lot had been happening, but not a lot has been especially note worthy. I get up, I go to work, I run, I walk, I bike, I eat, I sleep, I drink, I torment the cat, I annoy The Husband, I whine, I laugh…I live. And I’m not complaining, life has been good, I just haven’t had the urge to write about it. I think that is a good thing. I like it. A lot. … [Click Here For the Full Story]
