Brand Spankin’ New…26.2 t-shirt!

Workout Wanda: 4.59 mile run @ 9:04, NROLFW 2A1, 1.14 mile run @ 9:22 (combo workout – run around town to the Y, lift, head back to the car) Yesterday’s run suffered a bit. Basically, it didn’t happen. I made it a full 0.61 miles before I called it quits. Even with the new shoes my shin was super tight. I knew it would be a craptastic run and I didn’t want to risk shin splints for a run that would definitely not be worth it! Today I made up for it. Technically my training schedule has spinning and lifting…my work schedule said otherwise (spin from 6-6:45 doesn’t really work when you work at 7). I made up for that by running around town and then stopping at the Y for my first round of lifting with the NROLFW Stage … [Click Here For the Full Story]

Snow!? Again?! It’s probably karma…

Workout Wanda: 45 minute spin with Chris, NROLFW 1B8 (done with Stage 1!) Just the other day I commented on Jena’s post about the crazy amount of rain they are getting. I took it upon myself to brag about the great weather we have been having…well, apparently Mother Nature did not like that… Snow…on Aprils Fool’s Day. Sweet! Yeah, that’s right. We woke up to snow this morning! It was 31* and snowing…which translates into a sloppy mess. At the moment it has stopped snowing but the weather people are saying we will basically have slush falling from the sky on and off all day. Awesome-sauce. I guess it’s a good day to get my workout in early in the morning and at the gym! There will be no lunch hour runs today. At least Fred enjoyed his outside time. … [Click Here For the Full Story]

Half…way…there…

Workout Wanda: 45 minute spin, NROLFW 1A8 (almost done!) It is almost Friday…well, not really. But we are about half way through the week. That has to count for something, right?! Can you tell that I’m just a little bit excited for the weekend? I don’t even know why. Actually, I think I am most excited for a chance to sleep in and have a brunch of blueberry pancakes. Yup, that is what I’m excited about! For now I’ll have to stick with smoothies…putting my new little blender to good use! Since I’m still in the house there really is no reason to dirty more dishes, but I had to use my fun little cup again. I love green…I’m such a push over for green! Speaking of green, I got productive and took care of the plants that are still … [Click Here For the Full Story]

Fine, I’ll run…

I was seriously thinking about pulling off a full week of no physical activity. Why? Because I’m just that cool. Besides, I was already three days into the week without a single workout under my belt. Slizacker! Apparently I cannot function without a detailed training plan…at least then I feel guilty for skipping runs! Last night I gave myself a good talking to and decided that a full week of slacking is going to do me absolutely.no.good. I needed to get my act together. I needed to stop being a lazy bum. I needed to start running or the half on May 1st was going to completely suck. Besides, I started to feel guilty for not running when there are so many blogging runners that are battling injuries. I’m done being injured…and even when I was injured I worked out … [Click Here For the Full Story]

I attempted Zumba…

…and I am NOT a fan. To put this into perspective let me just say that I am not a fan of many workout classes. I don’t like it when I have to really focus on the movement I’m making in comparison with others. Actually, the only workout class I do enjoy is spin class. And even then I can do whatever I want and my ability to hop on one leg or spin my arms in a complete circle cannot be judged by anyone! Yup, I can’t hop around on one leg with any sense of rhythm or spin both arms in a circle…I failed at Zumba. About 20 minutes into the 60 minute class I was done. I was ready to head outside for a run in the amazing weather. It was in the 40s and raining. Okay, … [Click Here For the Full Story]
